Emily Smith assists small to mid-sized privately held companies with their overall real estate strategy. She provides consulting on a wide variety of office and industrial transactions, including lease renegotiations, site selection, and strategic planning, in which she achieves highly-aggressive terms and great flexibility for her clients. Specializing in tenant representation in the Downtown Chicago Market, Emily possesses 10+ years of commercial real estate experience.
Giving back is a personal passion of Emily’s as she volunteers her time to several causes. She has developed programs and initiatives as well as raised significant funds to help empower women-owned businesses. She was a Board Member for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Chicago Chapter, for seven years where she served as Chapter President. Emily was awarded “NAWBO Member of the Year” in 2009 and Daily Herald Business Ledger’s “Most Influential Women in Business” in 2013. She helped form the NAWBO Spirit Foundation—a 501c3 organization—where she oversees an entrepreneurship program for high school-aged girls. She also helped develop the first Badge to Business program for the Girl Scouts.
Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Illinois State University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, being active, and entertaining family and friends.
